Ubiquitous Synergy Seeker, also known as USS, is a Canadian rock duo that are permeating the United States border with their infectious grunge meets electronic sound. Their fourth album, Advanced Basics, has garnered them a number two slot on the Canadian iTunes and has spawned four Top 10 alternative radio hits and certified gold single. The Toronto-based band is used to playing sold out shows across Canada, but played the more intimate setting of Bowery Electric here in NYC last night.  Enjoy the footage of their live performance of “Freakquency” below.

Last week NYC held CMJ Music Festival and it was another successful year in the books. Modern Frequency attended K. Flay on Monday at the Knitting Factory, Elle King and Mary C. & the Stellars on Tuesday at Rockwood Music Hall and the Drom, respectively. Wednesday was Big Picture Media’s CMJ Showcase held at the Living Room in Williamsburg, Thursday was Gerard Way, former lead singer of My Chemical Romance, at Webster Hall, and Friday was BPM’s showcase at the Rivington followed by Danny Brown on ADA’s Boat Cruise.
