Highly influential dance-punk duo, Death From Above 1979, have finally revealed more details about their much anticipated new album, The Physical World, which will be released on Last Gang Records on September 9. The digital pre-order is available on iTunes now. The band’s first single, “Trainwreck 1979” is also available.
The duo’s first album in over a decade was produced by D. Sardy, who has helmed projects with the Red Hot Chili Peppers, LCD Soundsystem, and Oasis. The band’s debut, You’re A Woman, I’m A Machine, got them critical and commercial appraise across the board. The band consists of the duo Jesse F. Keeler on bass, synths, and backing vocals, and Sebastien Grainger on vocals and drums.
Death From Above 1979 disbanded in 2006 while the first album crossed over to the mainstream, thus making them an overnight sensation. They reunited in 2011 without even missing a beat. Jesse and Sebastien sat down with New Music Express to talk about the new album and reuniting.
The duo has just announced that they will hit the road this fall for an extensive European and U.S. headlining tour. Check out the dates below.
