Coldplay are back with what might be their final album. They debuted the tripped-out dance tune”Adventure of a Lifetime” this past Friday. It is the first single off the upcoming A Head Full of Dreams. “When we finished “Adventure of a Lifetime”, we were like, ‘Okay we are probably ready to come out again.’ This is one of those songs that brings everything else together on a project,” Chris Martin tells Sirius Radio. “I’m not really on it that much — I sing a bit and play a bit of piano — but it’s really the rest of the band on form. It makes me happy to listen to it.”
Martin told Sirius about a little bit of Guns N’ Roses inspiration on the new song.“The first thing that came was the title, and [lyrical inspiration came when] I was reading this book called Half the Sky by Nicholas Kristof and Sheryl WuDunn. I’d been begging Jonny our guitarist for years to make a riff that I like as much as Sweet Child of Mine by Guns and Roses, then he showed me that one, and I was like, ‘That’s it!’ So those elements all came together, and we just wanted to kind of embrace our love of joyful music and sort of let it free.”
Martin also has a suggestion for where to listen to the song: “You know what I like to do with this one? Run along the street. It makes me feel like going to get fit.”
