Big Boi and Andre 3000, otherwise known as Outkast, the rap duo who helped not only to shape southern hip hop, but mainstream rap music as well, are ready to reunite at two major upcoming festivals. It’s officially confirmed that the duo will make an appearance at Coachella Music and Arts Festival on April 11 and 18. Just this week it was confirmed that the rap act will be performing at Governors Ball Music Festival in NYC this spring as well.
The duo’s last breadth of creativity under the Outkast moniker was back in 2007 with their movie and accompanying soundtrack for Idlewild. The music and film received a lukewarm reception from critics and the public. Both Big Boi and Andre 3000 have been busy with side projects and solo albums, respectively, since then. Andre 3000 even debunked a rumor that the duo was headed for a split back in 2012.
