Modern Frequency loves finding gems under the radar and Jess Nolan is a fierce female that is bringing back the great times of Tori Amos, Paula Cole, Sarah McLachlan amongst others from the 90s women’s folk movement. Lizzy Goodman’s book Meet Me In the Bathroom was an in depth look at the garage rock early 00s NYC rock scene. The book covered The Strokes, The Yeah Yeah Yeahs, LCD Soundsystem, among others. Now, the book is getting the documentary treatment. It will open in theaters in New York and Los Angeles on November 4 and nationwide on November 8. Canadian rockers Texas King buried themselves in work during the challenging times of Covid and the end result is that the found themselves in a more creative place. Formed in 2012 by front man and lead-singer, Jordan MacDonald, Texas King soon grew to be a four person collective with Colin Gray as lead guitar and back-up vocals, Phil Spina on bass, and Rob Shipway on drums.
