Danny Saber was taken under the late great Michael Hutchence’s wing two years before his untimely passing. The illustrious producer shares his memories of the late INXS frontman with me via zoom, which can be seen below. Saber has now finished up Hutchence’s posthumous single “One Way” and it sounds like Hutchence never left us. His vocals are sharp as ever and the music that Saber put together for this song sounds like prime INXS. Hutchence loved Saber’s band UK rock outfit Black Grape and wanted their particular sound to influence his solo career a bit. The output really is something special.
I sat down to talk to Saber about he got started in the music industry, producing for some of the greats (Madonna, Bowie, U2), and putting together posthumous music from one of the most charismatic frontman of our generation, Michael Hutchence.
