The former My Chemical Romance singer, Gerard Way, is now paving the way for solo stardom. Way will be touring the U.S. in October and will be performing songs from his upcoming solo LP, Hesitant Alien. The LP will be released via Warner Brothers Records on September 30. Rolling Stone described it as “snappy, catchy songs delivered with arty panache”. You can check out the the video for “No Shows” below and it is an obvious departure from his MCR days. Way says, ” I wanted to make small things sound big,” about the album. “My intention was to make 100 percent uncompromised art, using the least radio-friendly instrument, the guitar.” Way worked with producer Doug McKean on the album. He also looked for inspiration to the Britpop poets like Jarvis Cocker and Damon Albarn. “There was no concept and no call-to-arms,” concludes Way.
