The soft vocals of Lightning Bug hit hard in the sophisticated “Lullaby For Love”. Her vocals are backed by soft guitar and her sweet melodies carry her softly through the song. The videos show off her elegant choreography skills as well, which was done by Nicole Fuentes. “I wrote Lullaby for Love as part of a mixtape for an ex-partner. It was actually kind of a joke between us, like leaning into the cheesiness of being in love. But as life flowed on, it kind of stuck with me. When you’re really in love, it feels like a special world…

New duo Babehoven release gorgeous tune called “My Best Friend Needs”. The duo reminiscent of lo fi band Tennis, play drums and acoustic guitar, so fair to say that they are more of a stripped down affair. Their new album entitled Water’s Here In You via Double Double Whammy illustrates the hype in this indie folk rock duo that put together a sonically yet simple textured album for the folk palette. “We had a lot of fun making the ‘Best Friend Needs’ video with Richard and Pearl. We were all able to go into full, creative, play-time mode thinking up…

Billianne is soaking up Maggie Rogers rays of folk sunshine on “Daydream”. She blends soul and folk in a mature fashion. “Daydream came from me constantly thinking and talking about the future,” shares Billianne. “I was walking through the thrift store buying mugs for an apartment that I didn’t (and still don’t) have yet. I thought that was kinda funny so in my next session with my friends Nick and Duncan, we wrote about it. It then went on to mean more than that. It’s now also about dreaming of a life full of adventure, trinkets, love and companionship. Daydream…

While their sound has not changed drastically through the years, their eighth album finds them in a stalled musical moment. The National’s soft rock sound becomes even softer on this latest effort. Beast found a few peaks, which included “The System Only Dreams In Darkness,” the band’s most aggressive track to date. No aggressive tracks appear on I Am Easy To Find,…

Pop singer Absofacto, Jonathan Visger, opened up for Two Feet Friday night at Music Hall of Williamsburg. The singer has many EPs under his belt already but played his most recent material off his latest project, Thousand Peaces. His songs remind you of a breeze caught over the Pacific somewhere. Besides playing original tunes, he also covered Arctic Monkeys “Crawling Back To You”, which felt like a legit slow acid trip. His back up band, which included two guitarists and drummer made for one entertaining and brave set, which included weird yoga dance poses from Visger himself. Brave indeed. Talk…
