Singer Sky Ferreira helped with grand opening festivities at Rough Trade record store in Williamsburg, Brooklyn last Monday. The store, itself, has been a long time coming for music lovers everywhere. Many naysayers say what’s different from a regular record store? Why resurrect something in already dying industry? From Vinyl to CDs to books, you name it Rough Trade has it–including something different—a  live performance intimate concert hall, which is an extension to the store, which already showcased a big talent opening night of the store–Sky Ferreira. The store has a fierce line up in weeks to come. Check out their web site for more.

Sky Ferreira performed a solid string of her songs from her debut album Night Time, My Time and proved that she’s not a flash-in-the-pan singer. She made up for her disappointing headlining Webster Hall performance despite a vocal injury that she was suffering from opening night.

Her new album is a bit of departure from her Ghost EP. Ferreira ditches the Madonna 80s pop feel for an ode to Debbie Harry and Blondie but sounds more of a teenage glam rock opus. Please take a look at the photo gallery below for pictures from her solid performance at Rough Trade.

Ferreira also just debuted her new video for the title track to her new album. Although a bit disturbing, Ferreira is definitely gives the public what she desires. Ferreira also popped up on Letterman the last week to perform the lead single off of Night Time, My Time called “You’re Not The One”. Check out the video and Letterman clip below as well.
