Okay I think we can forgive the Foo Fighters for not telling us they were back in the studio creating some really good tunes to rock out to. Hence, “Run”. This track embodies what rock music sounds like in 2017. Check out the video for “Run” below as the band goofs around in a senior citizens home.

Imagine Dragons feel like they crossed over to the pop nether lands with their new song called “Thunder”. This is the second single from their upcoming brand new album. Dan Reynolds is taking a front seat with this video and song stealing the rest of the band’s thunder, no pun intended. Check out the black and white motif new video, which was filmed in Dubai, below. “Thunder” was directed by Joseph Kahn.

Lynn Gunn, Alex Babinski, and Brian MacDonald are collectively known as PVRIS. Their dark undertones of their last album, White Noise, are seeping back up on their upcoming highly anticipated new record, which will be released sometime this year. Their new single “Heaven” was just released on BBC Radio 1’s Rock Show. Front woman of the band Lynn Gunn, though, says that the new album has “a few new elements added to it.” Check out “Heaven” below.

Once in a while there is a band that Modern Frequency gets really fond of. This week in our New Artist Spotlight, Australian based rock group the Middle Kids are catching our attention. Elton John has raved about this band and the trio’s single “Edge of Town” is a heaping side of Fleetwood Mac meets modern day alt-pop. If you wanted to you could possibly lump Phoenix with Passion Pit nowadays, but on the band’s sixth album, Ti Amo, due out June 9th via Glassnote, the band has delved back into their European sound. The band describes their new record as “summer and Italian discos”. The french quartet is scheduled to play New York’s Governors Ball this summer. Rock inspired R&B trio of sisters HAIM release the first new single from their upcoming album Something To Tell You called “Right Now”. The track feels a bit uneventful at first, but has spurts of piano and drums along the way. This will be the trio’s first full length album in over four years and will be due out July 7th.

Annalise Azadian, Lauriana Mae, Anik Khan, & Bibi Bourelly all graced the stage at Hot 97’s Who’s next Showcase. All the talent were predominantly R&B and hip hop based. Anik Khan showed off his dance moves while Mae took the stage with a bat with her calypso grooves. Bourelly’s voice was so raw as she effortlessly belt out her tunes from her catalogue. R&B singer and songwriter Bibi Bourelly will be taking the stage at SOBs this Monday along with up and comers Annalise Azadian, Lauriana Mae, and Anik Khan at Hot 97’s Who’s Next Showcase. The event will be hosted by Shani Kulture and music by DJ Juanyto.

TLC’s fifth and final album is due out June 30th. This is the first album without Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes. Lopes was killed in a car crash accident in 2002 while in Honduras. The first single from the still untitled album was released yesterday. It’s called “Way Back” and it’s reminiscent of the trio’s early sound with a west coast vibe to it. Upcoming Bronx rap queen, Connie Diiamond, is releasing her new video “Fireplace” featuring Billy B. that was shot all in the desert. Modern Frequency fell in love with Diiamond’s fierce energy at HOT 97’s Who’s Next Showcase a few weeks ago. This single is the first from the upcoming all female mixtape Return of the Fempire.
