Fellow Scottish and Chvrches approved band, Prides, is gearing up for SXSW  Music Festival. Their new single “The Seeds You Sow” is to be released on March 18. Nine Inch Nails lead singer, Trent Reznor, is still upset with the Grammys so much so that he is calling the show “an utter waste of time”. Reznor recently had the time to sit down for an interview with New Zealand’s 3 News expressing his discontent further with the show that cut his performance off with Dave Grohl, Queens of the Stone Age, and Fleetwood Mac’s Lindsey Buckingham. Melodic rock trio Shy Hunters is set to release their debut album, O That I Had Wings, with the release of the first single “Idle Days”. The trio have been playing all over the NYC scene for the past few years now. The new album puts the band in focus for 2014. Shy Hunters next show is February 27 at Baby’s All Right in Brooklyn. Mariah Carey has finally set a release date for her 11th studio album, The Art of Letting Go. It will be released on May 6 and she has released yet another single from the forthcoming album called “You’re Mine (Eternal)”. Her breathy vocals make the song sound very sensual, not to mention the high octaves she reaches at the end of the song. The rest of the song falls flat, though, as it mixes her previous songs “We Belong Together” and “Touch My Body” in a rehashed Mariah Carey tune that sounds all too familiar. Pop meets country with Sweden-American pop rock outfit Grizfolk. The band opens three sold out shows with Bastille next week, including a show at NYC’s Webster Hall. Grizfolk will be playing Pianos in NYC January 23 and headlines the Troubador in West Hollywood, California on January 29. The band plans to play SXSW this spring and open for ZZ Ward. NYC post-punk band SKATERS have announced their record release party for their debut album Manhattan at the Bowery Ballroom on February 25. Following an appearance at SXSW 2014, the tour will start off in Santa Ana, California and wind down on the east coast in Philadelphia on April 4. See tour dates below. Neon Trees cracked the mainstream music scene in 2012 with their infectious single, “Everybody Talks”. Their album Habits was released in 2010, but it was their single for “Everybody Talks” that got everybody started talking.
