Irish post punk band Fontaines D.C. have unveiled their new single “Starburster” off their upcoming LP Romance, out August 23 on XL. Besides some of the punk elements, the song has some trip hop elements to it, which is an ode to The Prodigy.
Conor Deegan said this of the new album: “We’ve always had this sense of idealism and romance. Each album gets further away from observing that through the lens of Ireland, as directly as Dogrel. The second album is about that detachment, and the third is about Irishness dislocated in the diaspora. Now we look to where and what else there is to be romantic about.”
It’s full steam ahead for this band. They are putting everything on the line for a break in the States.
