The Academy Is…returns after a near 18 year hiatus. The Chicago band is coming back with Almost There, their new studio album of original material since 2008’s Fast Times at Barrington High. Their new single “2005” is a dreamy tune with melodic undertones. Lead singer William Beckett says this about the song and the band’s return: “It’s checking in with who you thought you’d be twenty years later, seeing what changed, what stuck, and what still feels like home.”
The band shares the first single from the March 27 project called “2005”.
