The Technicolors are back after a four year hiatus. The band’s last album 2021’s Cinema Sublimina saw the band crest and then the pandemic occurred and put a damper on things for the band and the music industry suffered immensely as well. The band reconvened for Heavy Pulp this year though. The new album, which is due out June 20, definitely has a more refined psychedelic raucous sound to it across the board.
The singles released from the project so far show the band’s undeniable talent as we welcome them back with open arms. I sat down with lead singer Brennan Smiley of the band to discuss their time spent during the pandemic, the critics’ reviews, and working with Robert Adam Stevenson, who is known to produce and helm some of Queens of the Stone Age material.
