The Strokes have officially released two new songs off their upcoming Future Present Past EP. “Oblivius” and “Drag Queen” have been released to the public. Their muffled sounds and garage infused rock is still a very retro staple for the band. The new EP is due out June 3, which features the two aforementioned songs plus a song titled “Threat of Joy” and a remix of “Oblivius” by the band’s Fab Moretti. The Red Hot Chili Peppers have a new offering called “Dark Necessities” and it is the first single off the upcoming album The Getaway out June 17 via Warner brothers Records. The Peppers have parted ways with long time mentor and producer Rick Rubin and have signed up with new producer Danger Mouse on what is the band’s eleventh album. The funk is still there with deep bass grooves in ‘Necessities’. Take a listen to the track below. The band has been working on this new album since their debut on the Superbowl nearly two and a half years ago.
