Pearl Jam is back in the studio and recording new music since 2020’s Gigaton. Guitarist Mike McReady says the new material will be heavier. “It’s a lot heavier than you’d expect,” McCready continued. “There’s the melody and energy of the first couple of records. Producer Andrew Watt pushed us to play as hard and melodic and thoughtful as we’ve done in a long time. I feel like Matt Cameron’s drumming has elements of what he did in Soundgarden.” In other PJ news, the band is set to headline Bottle Rock Festival in Napa, California this year.

Brad Wilk, drummer of Rage Against the Machine, says the band is officially done—again. The news came yesterday in a social media post the drummer posted. The band, a rock staple in the 90s have broken up before in 2000. Now, this time, the band is done for good following a brief reunion tour last year.
