Michele Morrone is wearing many hats and simultaneously putting together a great body of work. Morrone not only is known for his angst-moody melancholic tunes but also produces and acts. Growing up in Italy has made the star realize what an astounding country it is—from its architecture to landscape to its culture—would make anyone want to soak up the country’s roots. He’s not letting any of it go as the country is represented in the art that he makes.
Today Morrone is celebrating his newest song “Leave Me” featuring American singer/songwriter and guitarist Two Feet. Morrone just signed with the Two Feet’s record label 477 Records out of New York City. The American guitarist stumbled upon Morrone’s music and the combination of both musicians unearth a solid collaboration from the depths of love and despair.
I talked to the Italian singer for a quick one on one on what catapulted him into music, fame, and his moody blues.
How did you get started in the entertainment business?
My mother took me and signed me up for a theater class, and from the moment I got on a stage I knew I wanted to be an actor. Music has always a part of life. My sisters were musical and took ballet, and there was always dancing and music in my house, twenty-four-seven. That was the environment.
How has growing up in Italy shaped your values?
Italy is one of the most beautiful countries in the world and I was born here and remain committed to Italian culture and its sense of beauty in the arts. I work within the cultural history of Italy and love everything about it.
You act and sing—-which do you love the best? Why?
I can’t say which I love best, lol. I really love acting. I think I was born an actor. From my earliest youth, as I mentioned, I wanted to be one, a dream that finally came true. But I also have always loved music and within the last several years have been able to work on this as well. Music is super important to me, as I think it is for most people and I’ve been able to put out songs that resonate with people and plan to continue doing it.
How did you meet Two Feet and come up with “Leave Me”?
Zac (Two Feet) called me about a year ago because he liked my music. And that was crazy because I really loved what he was doing. His sound is unique and sexy and dark—all the things I love. So when we started working together the song just came out by itself. We got along great and are working on more music, which I’ll be releasing over the course of the next several months.
What else can we expect from you in the near future?
More movies! And more music! I’m a workaholic and am constantly in motion. I love acting and writing and producing music. So, a lot more to come in the near future. Stay tuned!
