When first hearing Sydney Wayser, aka CLARA-NOVA, you’ll hear her breathy vocals and husky voice that remind you of Florence Welch but with an Ellie Goulding electro vibe. Indie pop band Dark Honey, based out of upstate New York, is comprised of brothers Jimi, Ben, and Joe Woodul and mutual friend and colleague Dan DeKalb. After a brief stint living down South, the band reconvened in NYC recently. Their colorful indie pop/rock blend will see them to the Rockwood Music Hall stage on November 7. Their song “Stinging Nettle” is a staple of the band’s and it depicts falling down and the pride of getting up again when troubles hit. The song was featured on Spotify and the Weekly Buzz. Their dark undertones of their last album, White Noise, are seeping back up on their upcoming highly anticipated new record, which will be released sometime this year.
