Who knew Kansas City had a hip rock scene? Kansas City’s, Hembree, who formed in 2015, is a relatively new rock act with their new single, “Holy Water”. It’s a sleek alt rock single that sounds promising for the trio’s future and the resurgence of a brand new rock scene. Christina Aguilera has not put out a new album since 2012’s underwhelming Lotus. Aguilera has though released the song “Change” earlier this year in response to the Orlando Pulse shooting attack, but now the blond bombshell is back in full force now with a single off the soundtrack to Netflix’s original series, The Get Down. The disco themed song is called “Telepathy” featuring Nile Rogers and is what a pop song should sound like–light and fun. She released a quick video for the song as well. Watch below.

Young the Giant and opening group Ra Ra Riot played Radio City last night. The melodies of Ra Ra Riot geared the crowd ready for what was an unforgettable performance from Young the Giant. Sameer Gadhia danced around with a cowbell and showed off his moves a la Michael Jackson. The band boasted a surprise as well with a string piece quartet during the middle of their set as well. Son of a Sun and Made Violent are paving the way for new music along with The Stress Dolls, which consists of lead vocalist Chelsea O’Donnell, Brian Siklinski on guitar, bassist TJ Luckman, and drummer Madison Rich. The band, formerly known as Wolf, has released the in your face modern rock laced single, “Pills”.
